On November 22, 23 and 24, gastronomy becomes the main attraction in Mexico, thanks to Millesime. A globally recognised fair in which the 7.000 m2 of the Citibanamex area are filled with the most exquisite gastronomy. All set in a dynamic and sensorial atmosphere, full of restaurants made with the most authentic and innovative designs and materials.
The seventh edition will bring together the young talent that is promoting gastronomy in the Central American country , as well as a cast of chefs with impressive track records. Professionals who make a commitment on raw materials, environmental sustainability and a kitchen with traditional roots.
Atmospheres with a taste of the “Earth”
One of the peculiarities of Millesime is the unique atmosphere created by the different restaurants that will make the fair their home for three days. Spaces designed to reinforce the image of each of the collaborating brands, recreating an atmosphere that meets the requirements of this edition’s theme. This year, under the “EARTH Sustainable Architecture” concept, materials from the earth, as well as sustainability and tradition are promoted. Ephemeral art made by the most renowned architecture and design studios in the country.
KABAN Restaurant: pure Mexican essence
PORCELANOSA participates as a collaborator in this seventh Millesime together with Faci Leboreiro Arquitectura, an architecture and interior design studio whose main objective is creating comprehensive projects which generate a unique sensory experience for the user, through design. This studio, which received such recognised awards like the Iconos del Diseño (Design Icons Award) organised by the AD Mexico 2014 magazine, is responsible for turning one of the spaces into a welcoming restaurant called KABAN.
KABAN is a space that represents Mexico, its roots and traditions through materials and decoration that just ooze Mexican culture. In the 200m2 of the restaurant, laminate flooring by PORCELANOSA has been installed (AC4 Style 1L Smooth and AC4 Style 1L Quiet). There are two floor tiles by L’Antic Colonial which provide a remarkable natural and welcoming character to the atmosphere.
Indoors, the textures and lighting are the main attractions, since the carved wall tiles with different Mayan symbols coexist with an indirect light that enhances the textures and this, at the same time, creates a mystical and relaxing atmosphere.
Finally, the decoration stands out because of its contrasts. The robust wooden tables are adorned with a delicate linen tablecloth, ceramic accessories and native fruit that highlight the earth’s colours and smells.
