These two houses in Baix Empordà stand out for their natural light, their minimalist open-plan spaces and their neutral décor based on PORCELANOSA Group collections.
Among the dense pine and oak forests surrounding Santa Cristina d'Aro (Baix Empordà, Girona), we find this monolithic pair of homes where the PORCELANOSA Group's collections help the minimalist architecture to blend into the region's vegetation. This was the approach followed by the PMP prêt-a-porter Cases studio in La Empordanesa, a two-home complex designed for absolute comfort.
This residential project on the Costa Brava is characterised by natural light, open-plan spaces and neutral decoration based on white, beige and grey. Its quality finishes, inspired by stone and wood, combine with home automation and Grade A energy certification to make this house an icon of architectural design and sustainability. "La Empordanesa combines elegant lines with an informal atmosphere, designed for comfort 365 days a year," PMP prêt-a-porter Cases point out.
All the rooms in this property have an open structure that takes full advantage of the natural Costa Brava light thanks to the large windows and light materials. The effect starts with the façade, where local stone is combined with XTONE sintered mineral compact by Urbatek, opening out on to the mountainous landscape that surrounds it.
The approach is applied inside by means of small black details that shape the staircases and windows and contrast tastefully with the white décor and the natural wood by L’Antic Colonial.
As if it were an island, the kitchen, which is open to the exterior, has been designed as a continuation of the main living room and its white lacquered cupboards set off the modernist style hydraulic tiles by Porcelanosa (general kitchen flooring) and Butech's decorative profiles.
The main bathroom on the ground floor features a fine wood bathroom unit, whose shine emphasises the white of the washbasins and the integrity of the Bottega Calizacollection, used for the floor, laid using Butech's technical solutions (Colorstuk). The integrated design that connects the bathroom with the rest of the home is completed with the Rimless suspended toilet by Noken and Forma Noken's flush system.
In the swimming pool area, a Smart thermostatic chrome finish shower was chosen with NK Concept chrome taps and a suspended Form toilet with Rimless technology and a push button from the same collection. This system maximises hygiene and is part of the WaterForest range making a useful contribution to water saving, thanks to its double ECO 4.5/3 litres flush.
Upstairs, and connected to the suite, is one of the most stately bathrooms in the property. With white, brown and black as the main colours and a sliding mirror that creates a double-depth effect, this room has been tiled with the PORCELANOSA Group's Madagascar collectionand ceramic wood. A combination that blends with L'Antic Colonial's parquet flooring, fine sustainable wood (FSC) that gives this area a sophisticated feel.
