Gamadecor has recently presented Duna, its new concept of bathroom furniture based on simplicity and the blending of materials in an innovative and attractive way. An original design which is able to set trends in the bathroom equipment market, done by the specialised firm from the PORCELANOSA Group.
Its main structure consists of a canal like shaped aluminium sheet where a basin made of granite has been set up, thus, achieving both an elegant and sober appearance. This way, the sense of spaciousness is increased without compromising design.
The aluminium sheet is curved and U-shaped, leaning against the wall, looking as if it was wall hung and perfectly integrated into the rest of the furniture. On the sheet itself, one can find the basin made of natural granite, which by means of the folding technology, fits into the interior gap of the curved sheet invisibly, thus, providing complete continuity with the veining in the material.
Regarding the finishes, on one hand, the aluminium has a lacquered black appearance with superficial epoxi paint, whilst on the other hand, the basin, in line with the same colour range, is shown in the Portobello granite finish.
Storage for the bathroom
As an auxiliary unit, Duna offers a single-drawer wall-hung piece of furniture in a rustic-effect natural oakwood, in line with the rest of the items from the collection.
Its main role is to increase the bathroom storage space and keep the sophisticated simple aesthetics of the basin. Its design is austere, with the main feature being that the drawer handle is with the bevel of the inverted upper edge.
With the aim of completing the collection in a coherent original way, a matching aluminium mirror is included as an accessory, following the curved lines that are typical of this series, and what is more, staying true to the lacquered aluminium as the main material.
Likewise, to provide the basin with both practicality and functionality, the aluminium sheet includes a small opening on the right-hand side, next to the granite piece, which works as a towel rail. Similarly, the mirror has built-in lighting and a shelf is supported inside the ring, perfect for hanging and placing everyday items close to the basin. This way, continuity with the aesthetics is achieved, which completely characterises the Duna collection, thus, allowing for the space to be kept tidy at all times.
An innovative and most attractive design, which meets both the latest bathroom design trends and special care regarding the finishes by excellently combining natural materials such as wood and granite with the aluminium in order to achieve a distinctive appearance.
