A cottage in Loredo integrated into nature

Architect Jacobo Gomis has designed a single-family home in which he combined local natural materials with PORCELANOSA’s ceramic collections.

With two windowed storeys where indoor living merges with the outdoors, this single-family house in the El Bosque residential estate in Loredo (Cantabria) seems to be sculpted into the landscape itself. This is the effect that architect Jacobo Gomis has achieved by merging natural slate with concrete and glass structures and our PORCELANOSA collections.

To transport this serenity from nature into the home, Gomis’s team opted for symmetrical shapes in combination with cream, beige, brown and green tones. This is evident in the infinity pool, which is inspired by ancient Roman hot springs through a rectangular volume made entirely with Arizona Arena porcelain tiles (Porcelanosa) with a non-slip finish in adjacent areas.

The matt finish on this collection (which relied on Butech installation materials) harmonises with the stone walls and the Vancouver ceramic wood in Honey hues (PAR-KER®), which in this project was used as the flooring in the living room and in the upper rooms.

Minimal decoration that beckons you to relax

Through a minimalist interior design where white is the predominant shade, the ground floor hosts the kitchen-dining room and the living room, with the Gamadecor model and the Krion® countertop in the centre. This compact mineral framed by Gamadecor lamps enhances the health and safety of the room thanks to its almost zero porosity, bacteriostatic nature and imperceptible joints.

The second storey contains the main bedrooms and bathrooms, where wood textures (Vancouver Honey ceramic parquet by Porcelanosa) have been interleaved with faux marble wall tiles (Artic) and their decorations to reinforce natural light points.

To gain space, the architect opted for a continuous design with the Yove lamp by Krion SP Bath and the Flow shower tray by Krion Shell®. This total white combination pairs perfectly with the Krion® double sink countertop and the Hotels taps by Noken. Decoration that reflects the quiet life and harmony sought by its owners in Loredo.
