Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has long established itself as one of the most visited and adored destinations in the Canary Islands thanks to its sunny climate, stunning landscapes and gastronomic diversity. This is reflected in the latest data collected by Aena and Frontur, which show the reactivation of the tourism sector in Spain, with March 2022 as the star month in the post-pandemic era. During this period, Gran Canaria hosted 325,288 tourists, of whom 298,056 were international tourists from countries such as the Nordic countries, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Comfortable rooms filled with design and light
This gradual recovery in tourism has also been felt at the Hotel Art Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, which offers some of the most exclusive accommodation in the area and is part of the MUR Hotels hotel chain. A minimalist design featuring white tones, Nordic furniture and organic textiles has been chosen for the 48 Premium apartments that are interspersed with collections by PORCELANOSA Group.
The idea behind the design is to allow the guest to experience the island via the tranquillity of its beaches (Las Canteras Beach is just a few metres away), and its new facilities are geared towards guest comfort through the use of minimal interior design, with priority given to functionality and personal well-being. To achieve this, architect Pablo Romero de Mur has chosen Metropolitan porcelain in Caliza by Porcelanosa to tile the main rooms (bathrooms, living room, kitchen and bedroom) in combination with the compact mineral Krion® K-Life 1100, the primary material for the countertops.
This solid surface makes the kitchen safer and more hygienic, thanks to its almost completely non-porous nature, bacteriostatic composition, imperceptible joins and high resistance. To balance the total white aesthetic, the Architect taps by Noken were chosen, a brand that is also present in the bathrooms with the Nk Concept collection (taps) and Architect (toilets).
With a continuous design that unites interior and exterior through the use of neutral colours, such as that seen in the Boston floor tiles which are present on the terrace and in the bathrooms, Art Las Palmas is the perfect accommodation to discover this beautiful island starting with its culture and traditions.
