The 12th Porcelanosa Awards Finalists: “Motion”. A project which comes from the future

The eight companies from PORCELANOSA Group come together in a design which sets out the concept of exhibition architecture again.

The creativity used in “Motion” has led the architects from DOA Arquitectura to becoming finalists in the category of Forward-Looking Design – Professionals.

At the 12th PORCELANOSA Group Awards, talent and innovation, along with the passion for architecture led the way. A clear example of this is the “Motion” project, which was a finalist in the category of Forward-Looking Design – Professionals, and it was done by Santiago de Pablo Fernández, Luis Orbaiceta de Navascués and Rubén Aldaba Vizcay; all of whom are from the DOA Arquitectura studio. The context of “Motion” is focused on the future, where spaces will be developed in a way that is totally different from the one that exists at present. The design is an exhibition area which brings the essence of PORCELANOSA Group together, where the materials from the companies shape the atmospheres. We are dealing with a way of conceiving flexible architecture which is versatile, where the space meets people’s needs.

Avant-garde design and naturalness enhanced to the max

“MOTION” is divided into 5 rooms: the traffic and exhibiting space, the living rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and movable panels. All of them are movable and can be combined together depending on the type of use.

The AC4 Natural 1L Roble Life laminate flooring from L’Antic Colonial has been used in the exhibition area, with the wall tiles coming from Venis with the rectified porcelain tile in the Biscuit finish. In the living rooms, the aesthetics of nature, namely wood and stone, provide great elegance and serenity. Starwood is used for the floorings and coverings of these atmospheres through its Nebraska Tea and Minnesota Honey collections. In these collections, we can find the Authentic natural wood parquet from L’Antic Colonial in a handmade polished finish. STON-KER, the highly-resistant ceramic stone from Porcelanosa and Venis was chosen for the rest of the floorings.

As far as the kitchens are concerned, “Motion” includes several models from Gamadecor which adapt perfectly to the design, thanks to their versatility and practicality alike. They are combined with other materials from the companies from the Grupo, such as the XLight worktop wall tiles from Urbatek and also the taps with a rotating spout and a pull-out shower from Noken.

The clean minimalist style defines the bathroom area with the Soleil Round, Lounge and Lounge Square bathtubs; the Tono shower column and wall-hung sanitaryware and the taps from Noken. Products from other companies have also been opted for, namely: the On Top countertop from Krion and the PAR-KER Manhattan Natural ceramic parquet from Porcelanosa for the flooring.

Butech, the company specialised in technical solutions, is present in all the rooms with its Colorstuck high-performance cement-based grain grouting material and its Super-Flex S2 specific adhesive.

With regard to the movable guide rail panels, the KRIONTM mineral compact has been used, which can be shaped thanks to its thermoforming nature. 5 pieces have been used which allow for different atmospheres to be created and shaped.

A creative, bold and innovating commitment which brings technology, design and functionality together.
