The students from the BIM manager master from the professional school of new technologies (CICE) won the award for the best Future Project in the student category at the 11th PORCELANOSA Group Awards.
Luis Orbaiceta de Navascues, Ruben Aldaba Vizcay and Santiago de Pablo Fernandez, known as DOA Arquitectura, presented an innovative project which focused on the origins of nature. Especially in rock, an essential element for the PORCELANOSA Group pieces.
Organic geometry
The main space for the future PORCELANOSA Group showroom is in an organic and geometric atmosphere which imitates a natural cave and it is designed so that visitors have a unique experience. A symbiosis between rock and soil.
The ceiling draws attention to itself because of its combination of geometric volumes, inspired by the traditional figures of origami. An effect achieved through the false ceiling coated with a mesh structure, created with the different finishes from the KRION® Solid Surface natural compact by Systempool.
The main space is illuminated naturally through a central skylight providing greater vitality to the space. The distribution takes advantage of the existing perimeter in the building to house the exhibition areas, which enables light to come in, thus freeing up the central core.
The floor tiles from the PORCELANOSA Group vary in the different atmospheres in the space. In the living rooms, nature is represented through the Starwood wood in contrast to the Ston-Ker ceramic stone.
For the bathrooms in this showroom, the Carrara white marble effect porcelain tile is combined with other floor tiles, like the PAR-KER ceramic parquet. The toilets from the Tono collection and the NK Concept taps are also present in this room.
The recognition of DOA Architecture is a strong enhancement for these student’s careers, whose designs are very promising indeed.
