PORCELANOSA Grupo projects: excellence by Krion® in Credit Agricole, France
Friday January 19th, 2018 · PORCELANOSA Grupo
The Credit Agricole regional headquarters, located in the former French metropolitan region of Poitou-Charentes, is one of the most impressive structures in modern architecture. A majestic creation made with a facade of a mineral nature in which multiple details made with the Krion® solid surface by PORCELANOSA Grupo can be seen.
Some 6.000 m2 of this material were needed to cover the headquarters, which was designed by the Ory & Associates Architecture Studios, a company founded in 1979 by the architect, Jean-Jacques ORY. A meticulous project which was carried out thanks to the engineering department of Butech, a building systems company from the Group.
The malleability, purity and versatility of the Krion® Solid Surface allowed the architects, Jean Pierre Duvert and Bojana Popovic Cabinet Ory from Paris, who have overseen the project’s design, to make this project become a reality. An architectural structure that masterfully combines modernism with delicate classical references. A design whose geometry of horizontal lines is defined by the length of the building and the large spans in the body of the structure.
Specifically, the purity of Krion® Lux Snow White has been opted for. A pure white colour that, thanks to its mostly mineral composition and its small percentage of acrylic resins, allows backlighting at night.
In this way, Credit Agricole becomes the project with the largest Krion® façade so far in France. An element which rests on an imposing steel structure that simulates an elastic sphere that supports the structure.
Visual continuity inside
The originality of this project does not end on the outside, but on the inside, where it stands out because of diaphanous, minimalist and futuristic spaces, where every detail counts. In the hall, we find a wall covered with Krion® that coexists with a steel structure designed to create an effect of continuity with the outside of the building. Also, a reception desk in pure white also made with Krion® is included.
