CORE: everything about the most industrial urban through-body porcelain by Urbatek

With its origin being in New York, we first saw industrial style pop up in the 50s when, in search of bigger spaces and more light to develop their work,  artists from New York lived in old warehouses and factories on the outskirts of the city. From that, a style with strong roughness and character came about, which was characterised by high ceilings and bare walls; visible pipes; metal pieces and even un-worked materials.

Industrial style started making a comeback many years ago, and because of this, it got the recognition that it deserved in the field of contemporary architecture and interior design. With an incomparable personality, this trend continues to gain importance year after year, therefore, becoming more and more established in today’s most modern and cutting-edge housing.

Being reinvented steadily is its well-kept secret, therefore, it meets people’s lifestyle demands as well as suiting the most current housing. This is how a trend comes about, and although it comes from the past, it is presented in an updated way so that its essence can be conveyed without compromising some certain aspects such as innovation, quality and design.

CORE, cement-effect through-body porcelain for industrial interiors

The PORCELANOSA Grupo, with its on-going commitment to offer very trendy materials, offers a wide range of industrial-style flooring and wall tiles. These ceramic materials are provided with high functionality and aesthetic beauty, along with a high-level of quality and great technical performance.

Urbatek extends its industrial flooring collection with the Core series. This unique design is added to the MORSE, CORE, ON and CONCRETE collections in order to provide the projects, in which it is installed, with a cutting-edge touch. Additionally, it represents a safe bet as highly-resistant flooring, as well as being long-lasting in relation to the different styles around today.

Aesthetically, the CORE collection reproduces the surface of cement in a new design with many shades. This material is present in the interiors of housings and commercial premises, being the dominating force in current spaces with urban aesthetic. Furthermore, once installed on the flooring, this full through-body porcelain is able to provide a feeling of spaciousness and at the same time, a feeling of uniformity.

The design in the Core collection also stands out because of reproducing cement surfaces with a high-level of accuracy. In the graph, which is full of similar variations to this aged product, the white haloes which simulate salt like “efflorescence” and faded colour effects stand out. In colour terms, Core also stays true to the most typical tones of cement, therefore, showing that urban allure inspired by the 20th century, with every single technical feature of the through-body porcelain tile, which results in being ideal, even in demanding and high-traffic areas.

Core is available in several formats and finishes. Ranging from the bright CORE White, to the most neutral colour of the CORE Grey, or the darkest colour in the CORE Coal, without forgetting about the warmth of the CORE Sand. Its installation options are endless thanks to both its aesthetic range and modular formats: 80×80 cm, 59,6×59,6 cm, 29,7×59,6cm, all of them come in a Nature finish.
