PORCELANOSA Grupo, joining forces against poverty with Oxfam Trailwalker
Tuesday April 5th, 2016 · PORCELANOSA Grupo
PORCELANOSA Grupo once again shows its clear commitment to help the most disadvantaged people around the world. This coming April 16th, the firm is going to be present again at the 5th edition of the Oxfam Trailwalker, which is a 100km long charity run. PORCELANOSA Grupo provides three teams of runners with its logo printed in their respective numbers. It is a great sporting challenge which will help to raise funds for several third-world countries.
Among the objectives of the Oxfam Intermón NGO while organising this charity run, it is worth mentioning the Ethiopia Water Bank development project, which has been set up in order to ensure access to drinking water for more than one hundred thousand people. As well as this, the food crisis in Sahel will also be tackled. Both projects have been funded from the money raised in previous editions of the Oxfam Trailwalker.
PORCELANOSA Grupo, a firm manufacturing floor tiles and wall tiles; quality design kitchens and bathrooms; and the most innovative building systems; already reached a milestone in a previous running of the Oxfam Trailwalker. In 2015 the firm not only achieved the raising of aid funding, but also took a leading position in the ranking of donations, thanks to the contribution from workers, relatives and friends, who both gave, and give their total support to the participating runners from the PORCELANOSA Grupo’s team.
In this fifth edition of the ultratrail race, expectations are high and the record is expected to be reached, and even broken, making the PORCELANOSA Grupo team become once again the leading team with regard to humanitarian contribution. If you also want to offer your support by giving a contribution to the team , you can do it by either clicking this link, or by accessing the Oxfam Trailwalker web directly.
The run. A challenge from the heart.
The runners from the three PORCELANOSA Grupo’s teams, together with other runners from different teams, will have to take part in a 100km race through the Vía Verde del Pirineo and the Costa Brava. The start takes place in the Gerona township of Olot, the starting point where the charity run will get underway. From the start, the runners will have a maximum of 32 hours to finish the race in teams, with the main requirement being that the four members of the team must start together, stay together and finish together.
