Reformulating the past. The design by Christos Passas
Thursday August 27th, 2015 · PORCELANOSA Grupo
Being able to create new products, new items and new spaces in a constant process of adaptation to the contemporary living concept is the main mission of Christos Passas. To do this, a persistent non-conforming attitude is necessary when faced with the present and past, with the aim of reformulating it, extending it, and always taking it further.
The designer understands each building and each design as a new experience, a unique chance to start over.
The Cypriot Christos Passas has been an Associate Director at the renowned architectural firm of Zaha Hadid since 1998, where he has directed large-scale design projects such as the Holloway Road Pedestrian Bridge in London or the Phaeno Science Centre Wolfsburg, in Germany. The latter was nominated as one of the best buildings of the twentieth century by the prestigious British newspaper, The Guardian.
With extensive training, he was at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in Brooklyn (New York), and at the Architectural Association in London. Currently, he is also a professor at the AA Design Research Lab and participates as a juror in many famous international awards.
The designer Christos Passas shares his future city image, a dynamic and universal city, in this video testimonial he pays tribute to Noken, the specialized firm in bathroom equipment by PORCELANOSA Grupo, for its 15th anniversary.
