Monday September 15th, 2014 · PORCELANOSA Grupo
The Encounters exhibition by Luis Vidal has just opened its doors at the Dallas Center for Architecture. From the 10th of September until the 31st of October, visitors to this retrospective of the work of Luis Vidal + Arquitectos will be able to discover, among other projects of different types, the Mood bathroom collection, designed for Noken by the architect in collaboration with the Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners firm.
Encounters is continuing its tour of different North American states after its presentation in the Washington District Architecture Center in April during national architecture week, afterwards moving to the New York Center for Architecture during NYCxDESIGN during May.
Through this interactive exhibition in which city planning and construction projects can be seen, in addition to industrial design works such as Mood electronic taps by Noken, Luis Vidal proposes a reflection upon 21st century architecture: infrastructures, sustainability, urban expansion, technology, innovation and interdisciplinary practices.
The Spanish architect outlines a journey through the philosophy of Luis Vidal and his collaborators with a vertical garden made up of 6,000 “flowers”, 80 projects and 18 cities. Furthermore, an app based on augmented reality technology and optics has been developed by a research team from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, completing the Encounters experience.
